Private Lessons |
||
Private swim lessons are a great way to give children or adults the individual attention they need. A YMCA instructor will work one on one to teach the skills needed for a lifetime of aquatics safety and fun. YMCA Members: Single - $60/4 - 30 minute classes Two from the same family - $80/4 - 30 minute classes Three from the same family - $120/4 - 45 minute classes Non Members: Single - $100/4 30 minute classes Two from the same family - $120/4 - 30 minute classes Three from the same family - $180/4 - 45 minute classes |

Group Lessons |
||
Group swim lessons are a great way for your child to learn swimming skills, water safety and the YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility. Classes begin June 14th with a maximum of 6 students to 1 instructor for 3 to 5 year olds and 8 students to 1 instructor for ages 6 and up. Classes may need to be repeated. No classes June 28th through July 9th. Swim lessons will be offered weekly YMCA Members - $25(Saturday classes: $15/session) Non-Members - $50(Saturday classes: $30/session) *All classes may need to be repeated. |

Level 1 Shrimp/Perch: Age 6-36 months |
||
Parent and child perform activities based on the developmental abilities of the child. This playtime in the water allows children to explore the water in a fun and social way with principles such as sequential progression, modeling and signals. Parent participation in the water is required. |

Level 2 Pike: Age 3-5 - Beginner |
||
This class is for children that have very little if any swimming experience at all. They will learn to put their face in the water, paddle on their front, back and side with support. The class is taught through a series of songs and games to develop a trust and enjoyment of water. This class may need to be repeated several times. |

Level 3 Eel: Ages 3-5 - Intermediate |
||
This class is for the beginner swimmer who has some swimming skills but are not advanced enough to swim on their own. They will learn to float, paddle on their front, back and side with support. The class is taught through a series of songs and games. This class may need to be repeated several times. |

Level 4 Ray: Age 3-5 - Beginner Advanced |
||
This class is for children who have mastered some swimming skills. They must be able to fully submerge their face in the water, paddle on their front, back and side at least 5 feet without any support, and float comfortably on their front and back with support. |

Level 5 Polliwog: Age 6 and over - Beginner |
||
This class is for children that have very little if any swimming experience at all. They will learn to put their face in the water, paddle on their front, back and side with support. This class may need to be repeated several times. |

Level 6 Guppy: Age 6 and over - Beginner Intermediate |
||
This class is for children who have some swimming experience. They must be able to fully submerge their face in the water, paddle on their front, back and side at least 20 feet without support, and float comfortably on their front and back without any support. They must also be able to jump into the deep and paddle to the side unassisted. |

Level 7 Minnow: Age 6 and over - Intermediate 1 |
||
This class is for children who have more advanced swimming experience. Participants must be able to tread water for 40 seconds, float comfortably on their front and back for 60 seconds, swim on their front 25 yards, and swim on their back 25 yards without any support. They must also be able to jump into the deep and paddle to the side unassisted. |

Level 8 Fish: Age 8 and over - Intermediate 2 |
||
This class is for children who have more advanced swimming experience. Participants must be able to tread water for 1 minute, swim front crawl, back crawl, basic elementary backstroke, sidestroke, and breaststroke for 25 yards. |

Level 9 Flying Fish: Age 8 and over - Advanced 1 |
||
This class is for children who have more advanced swimming experience. Participants must be able to tread water for 3 minutes, dive from a standing position, and float comfortably on back for a long period of time. Swim front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke, sidestroke, and breaststroke for 50 yards, and swim butterfly for 15 yards. |
