Josefina Alvarez

 

EDUCATION and CERTIFICATIONS:

AFFA Certification, Aerobics and Fitness Association of America


YMCA Foundations of Group of Exercise, including high/aerobics, step, boot camp, total body, interval training, and stability ball.


Certified in CPR, AED and First Aid


Fitness Perspective:

Josefina is originally from Albany, Georgia but has lived in Ohio for 5 years. Josefina started working at the Y inSpringfield about 3 years ago and then the Union County Family Y about 2 years ago. Physical fitness has not always been a part of Josefina’s life. After living most of her adolescence overweight and seeing the dangers it caused her family, she decided to live a healthier life for herself. She began a weight loss venture and was determined to succeed.  She knew being a healthy mom would set a good example for her two boys.  Josefina is very conscious to create exercise programs that cater to her clients various fitness levels while keeping it challenging. Personal Training is her passion and she wants to help people live healthier lifestyles.

 

 



Erika Smiley

Fitness Perspective:

Erika is originally from Boston, Massachusetts and moved to Marysville 5 years ago. Erika was an overweight, stay – at – home mom who decided she wanted to lose weight. Erika joined the YMCA three years ago. She participated in many aerobic classes and hired a Personal Trainer to help her achieve her fitness goals. 85 pounds later she has completed many half – marathons, triathlons, a marathon and even a NPC figure competition. Erika was able to accomplish this goal by exercising and training at the Union County Family YMCA. Erika decided that she wanted to help others achieve goals similar to hers so she became a Certified Personal Trainer for the YMCA.   She is excited about her new role as Fitness Coordinator!

I have been in the Fitness industry for 10 years with 4 of those years as a personal trainer. I will work with you one on one or in a group training setting. My desire to see you achieve your health and fitness goals is a priority. To see the results that people can accomplish is very satisfying!

I am a recently certified personal trainer who brings the energy of a true athlete to the YMCA Fitness Center. I am highly self-motivated athlete, with the belief that anything is possible. My goals for you include helping you turn your potential into performance, build trust and the belief that you can accomplish anything if you set your mind to it.
